4th of July - No big bangs

Hope everyone had better weather than us for 4th of July. Although it rained off and on the past weekend, we did our best to BBQ and enjoy family. My parents came up from New Mexico on Friday to spend the 4th with all of us. On Saturday morning, despite the looming clouds, we headed to the Highlands Ranch festivities, which where hot, super crowded and basically the same set up as all the other festivals at the Town Center. Morgan had fun meeting the police officers, seeing the ponies, big horses and the kiddo choo choo. We then headed back to the house for naps and cooking - what we lacked in good weather this past weekend, we made up for in awesome food, great wine and even better company. Sunday afternoon we headed to the Littleton Homestead Farm for Morgan to check out the new baby calf, a huge peacock and a ton of sheep, goats, donkeys,etc... just there long enough to run inside when it started to down pour rain. She loved seeing all the animals and I love that it's free and super close to the house - I'm sure we will go there a lot. This morning we had music class, then headed to The Counter Burger restaurant at Park Meadows - locals - check this place out - really good service, fun topings for the burgers - not as good as Teds - but a fun place. Morgan's big sayings this week have been: "Papa Jim - I NEED that - I NEED more _fill in the blank_ (yogurt, popsicle, milk, marker, paper)" " WHY ?" followed by "Ottay Mommy" As for our precious Abigail - she LOVES apple sauce. It is one of the few stage 1 foods that she will eat, but at least she is eating it. I also gave her some watermelon to suck on she absolutely loved that too. She does good with squash, but would pass on peas and other veggies - we will keep trying. She is sitting up so well, and seems to do better being on her tummy - although no signs of crawling just yet. She is "talking" a ton, learned how to make noises with her hands in her mouth and talking and is learning how to clap. It's totally incredible how quick she is growing. Oh and here are a few old videos and some good pics.
