Grandma Dedow & Papa Jim drove up from NM last week - we had a great time enjoying some beautiful weather, cooking out, and going on all sorts of adventures. Something new we tried this time was visiting the Berry Patch Farms in Brighton
- it's berry season in CO, so we were able to pick our own organic strawberries! The girls loved riding on the wagon behind the tractor, picking the strawberries, and seeing all the animals on the farm.
As you can see - we did pretty well for ourselves!
The only problem with picking out in the field, is that Abby "sampled" a LOT of berries and the evidence was ALL over her face!
Grandma Dedow wins the award for picking the most though- she was really good at finding the best berries, while poor Papa Jim ended up carrying everything around for us!
Now what to do with all those strawberries? Well we ended up making some amazing jam and the girls LOVED taking jam to school to share with their little friends!
For locals - another great place to check out! Can't wait to go back when the other berries and veggies are in season!
