Happy 4th!

Morgan has been the kid about town this weekend...and loving all the activity. She has been so good on all her treks.....the weekend started on Friday when we went to BabysRUs to get her new "big girl" car seat - the other one is getting so hard for me to lift in and out of the car, so we bought the bigger seat that can still be rear facing and then when she is 1 year, it will turn around and be forward facing. More on the car seat on our saturday update... we then went to the Cherry Creek Arts Festival - lots of strolling around, listening to live music and checking out some beautiful and funky art - Morgan was of course a hit in her little outfit and was even waving the flag to the music!
After the festival we headed home for a nap then to the baseball game - the NEVER ending 4 hour baseball game - the Rockies won in the 9th inning, beating the Marlins 18 to 17 - yes - it was a very high scoring game and even a record was set - most homeruns in a single game for the Rockies - Morgan did great during the game - and finally fell asleep at 9:55pm - with the fireworks going off around 10:30pm - which she slept through! I had her ears tightly covered, but she didn't wake up at all - it was great - and everyone sitting around us was totally amazed!
And of course she did not eat any of this tootsie pop - just licking it for a little flavor. She loves candy like her mommy though!

Saturday was a grumpo day for the little peanut - too much activity on Friday and going to bed way past her bed time was not good for Morgan - she was a super grump all day - UNTIL - we let her check out her new car seat - now named her rocketship. She LOVES her new car seat - and just sat in it and drank from her sippy cup and ate her Gerber snacks, like she was sitting in a lazyboy.
When we would put a stuffed animal in the seat, she would crawl over to it and pull the animal out - that is HER rocketship of course!!!

Sunday we headed up to Boulder to go to the AVP ProVolleyball tour - where we got to see the women's finals and we got to see the Women's sand volleyball team that will be competing at the Olympics! The weather was spotty and rainy every now and then, but Morgan was a trooper, banging the thundesticks together, rocking to the music and clapping Her daddy wanted her to take notes as women's volleyball has the most NCAA college scholarships - I'm not sure she will have the height that she will need, but she certainly has the power in her arms and interest in sand and balls! We ended Sunday with a drive from Boulder up to Loveland to the outlet shops for some stroller walking and a little shopping - can't resist that Carters outlet!! - so many great deals.

Unfortunately, Bernie had to work all weekend and couldn't join us in any of these activities, but Kelli was right there with me the entire time and we had a great time checking out so many cool Colorado sights. During the weekend, Morgan also picked up saying "uh oh" when she drops something, which is now more a game more than anything, standing by herself, "walking" along the coffee table and car seat, throwing her bottle when she is done eating, not interested in her solid baby food anymore, and identifying different animals in her books like a horse, duck and dog when you ask her to pat them. She is getting so big, so fast!!! Oh - she also loves to give kisses to people and her dolls and stuffed animals.
