Kangaroo Kingdom ROCKS!

We took advantage of a rainy day today to check out Kangaroo Kingdom play land with the Tracy boys (Eban - just turned 2 and Jackson - about 10 1/2 months). It's basically a big rubber room with gymnastics style play mats for little munchkins. That would be Eban streaking by in this photo of the play room - above. Morgan took about 3 minutes to figure out what the heck was going on, and then she crawled right in to the action - playing with Jack down below, sliding down the mini slide and playing peek-a-boo with mommy in one of th tunnels.


Except for one kid who was borderline too big/old to be there - all the other kids where playing really nicely and the parents where pretty involved - it was nice. Oh, and every few hours there is bubble time - and the kids freak out as a bubble machine launches bubbles through the room - it was pretty damn entertaining.

About 5 minutes after getting back in the car to head home, Morgan was passed out. She downed part of a bottle and fell right asleep, not before a quick stop at the Lafayette Peach Festival where Lindsay ran down the street in the rain to grab us a bag of peaches so I didn't have to get Morgan out of the car - they smell fantastic and some even have the leaves still attached - truly fresh peaches - can't wait to make a cobbler.

While Morgan and I enjoyed a long day out - we had several more showings of our house today and Kelli and Bernie headed to Reggae on the Rocks at Red Rocks - this is Kelli's first concert experience at Red Rocks and the poor girl got rained on all day - I'm sure they will be all cold and soaked when they get home - hope it was worth it and fun - concerts are always pretty amazing at Red Rocks - the past two days have been unusually fall like with lots of rain and highs in the low 60's. We really needed the rain so I don't mind - but then I wasn't outside in the foothills at a concert all day.

Last weekend was super busy with lots of O'Brien's in town to celebrate Angel's 50th birthday and Tommy and Kim's engagement - Morgan also got to celebrate with some cake - My brother Chris and his wife Ellie also made it in to town for a quick few days before a longer vacation up in the mountains - it was fun having them here to hang with and to see Chris with Morgan - he did great for not being a "baby" person.

And lastly - Morgan deserves big applause for all the new foods she has tried this week, including: black olives, tortilla, refried beans, peaches, ham, cucumber, avocado, white grape juice, watermelon, sourdough bread, lamb (gyro meat) As you can see from her picture- we are letting her explore food a lot lately.

More applause for her expanding sign language vocabulary - Kelli taught her the sign for book this week and although we have been doing it for sometime, she finally picked up doing the sign for more - so if you ask her if she wants more bottle or more food, she will do the signs for More and then bottle - it's great. She also knows the signs for "all done" , "milk" and we are working on "thank you" "down" "up" - she just puts her arms up now - and "cheese" - on top of the signs - she is doing a lot of animal sounds, including a monkey, duck, cow and horse - we are working on dog and cat. Also, if you ask her if she has a pee-yew - sometimes she will point to her pants - if she does this about 50% of the time she has a poop in there, but even if there is no poop, it is typically a pretty full wet one - so we change her anyways - she is getting very good at communicating with us. I am truly amazed every day at what she can do.
