Doc visit today went great! Check out that karate kick foot!!!
So here are the stats.... baby is normal size, she is 3lbs 4oz and is growing right on track...too much on track actually - the technician said that from here on, the baby will grow 1/2lb. each week - let's all do the math here - that means an 8lb 4oz baby at 40 weeks!!! Yikes. She was VERY active during the ultrasound. When we started, she actually had her foot in her mouth, then she wiggled around a whole bunch and put her hands and arms up towards her face in a boxer stance.She has finally turned and is no longer breach. The doctor said she will of course keep checking as sometimes they turn back around, but most likely she will stay head down. I was just telling Bernie a few days ago that she was going crazy with movement. I mean really, she was moving all over the place for a long time - I guess she was turning around!
The ultrasound revealed a lot of great news - her organs are working perfectly, including her kidneys, heart, liver and stomach - all of which you could see. Her brain, head and femur bones also measured beautifully.
I did gain a few pounds, which also made the doctor happy, so right now I am +.5 lbs for the pregnancy - yeah! Heartbeat was strong, my blood pressure normal - everything looks great.
So keep the prayers coming, your warm wishes are certainly working for us and the baby! It's been tough the last week or so as it has been VERY hot here in CO, but of course it is all worth it! It was great to see a lot of the O'Briens this past weekend up in Vail for McBash - and great to meet new family members too. Can't wait to see more O'Briens and Binghams in just a few weeks in Colorado!
